Village Health Worker

Training Purpose

Once the program is finished, the trainees serve in areas with limited healthcare options and work to enhance access to essential medical services. They can teach the community about how to prevent diseases and stay clean, how to plan their families, and how to eat well. By doing this, the village healthcare workers lower the number of people getting sick and encourage healthier habits.

There are several challenges that need to be addressed. One of the concerns is the low available resources, including teaching environment, equipment, facilities and mobile network. For instance, the hot weather made it difficult to provide a safe and supportive learning environment. Another challenge was the presence of language and cultural barriers, which impeded effective communication and understanding. It made it more challenging to cater to everyone’s needs and provide training that was suitable for individuals with different backgrounds and abilities. Furthermore, the issue of trainees originating conflict ridden areas adds another layer of complexity, as they are worried about their families. Consequently, some trainees are unable to attend the training due to the ongoing conflicts in their respective regions.
